Today I took a course on Social Netorking at Renegade University . It was packed with great information. Here' I'll give you a few golden nuggets. I learned that at Social Network sites the worse thing you can do is try to promote yourself, actually that rule is for any where. Social Networking sites are here for us to mingle in the crowd and get personal with others. At a party you don't want to be talking about work that's boring and a turn off!
I like to visit others profile page to find something that strikes me so I can start a conversation with that person. You should read the responses I get when I send someone a personal message to compliment them on their video, audio, pictures or what they wrote. Some really act shocked because I'm not sending them my sales pitch, I don't even send them my link in my first message. They thank me for being different.

When you write to someone pretend you have known them years and dialogue just starts to flow. But how is this going to help me promote my business? It will help you promote your business, but not right away. You have to build trust and creditability for yourself first, then they'll ask you "what do you do again?" Then you'll know the trust is there!
